Ok, I confess, I tear the warning labels off mattresses, too.

More mosaic mania....

For Mac users only (until I find a Windows-based solution) here is a link to a free application that lets you create a mosaic to form an image. In the case below, I created a red heart using Photoshop Elements, used it as my background, then the program went through my entire photo library to paste appropriate photos into the picture.

Make a mosaic

The example above is a 20x20 grid. If you use a larger grid, you get better definition of the (heart) image, but the thumbnails become so small that you can't tell they are your photos. (Late) Happy Valentine's Day!

Photomerge using Picassa...

Within Picassa, you can select multiple photos, then within the "Create" menu, there is a "collage" function. One of the effects is to "photomerge" two photos. It's easy to do, but the results are never particularly interesting. I like this one, however, which is a photomerge of me swimming in a pool against a shot of the Columbia River Gorge:

New Online Slideshow on Photodex

I have discovered a new application for sharing online slideshows (synched with music), called Photodex. It was fast and easy to use. I am currently using a trial version, so there is a badge across the show during playback:

SimpleStar Photoshow worked sporadically for me -- there are a lot of bugs and the application is slow. (It seems like it is built within Director.)
